The original photograph is a tintype image. The brown area shown does not show the extent of the rusting that had taken place. Restoration required creating arm definition, bringing out the detail in the hem area, reconstructing the collar, and restoring the right eye on the dog. The background was cleaned up and the rusted area in the prop area blended to a realistic looking motif. |
